Celebrating 23 Years of a Special Relationship

In our last report we shared the story of how the Lord orchestrated a Full Circle Back Around to a very special relationship we shared right at 23 years ago with our former youth pastor and his wife at Stillwater Community Chapel up in Grand Lake, Colorado.

Within just a few short weeks after the Lord refocused our attention to the details of their current ministry overseas, JoAnn and I ended up on a spontaneous field trip to go experience first-hand, exactly what the Zittle family were involved in.

Tim and Jen began a difficult and complicated journey clear back when they were with us in Grand Lake to adopt some children with special needs from China. Now, fast-forward 20 plus years and it’s incredible to see how they have faithfully combined Godly wisdom, patience and deep parental love into a beautiful, cohesive family team offering hope and a future to a whole overlooked and underserved people group in Belize.

Meeting The Needs...

The Need

Members of the Special Needs community are largely outcasts in Belize, seldom seen out in public as there are few places that can accommodate them and provide appropriate access to public facilities.

The "3D Friends" Solution

A program to provide transportation to about 20 participants twice a week into “Pathways” – meetings at a shared ministry facility for physical exercise, creative activities, educational, job-training skills and Biblical instruction. On alternative days, the 3D Staff make regular, personal, family visits to the homes of regular Pathways attendees to provide resources, counseling and encouragement to regular caregivers.

Night to Shine

This has been a highlight event demonstrating God’s love for these special individuals who are “fearfully and wonderfully made” in His image.
