Meet The Team
Jim Weber
President/CEO
"And being confident of this, the He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
- Philippians 1:6
Jim was born in Denver, Colorado, but spent most of his childhood days in Japan where his parents were missionaries, planting three churches and establishing a camp and conference center  during their 26 years of service in that country.  Upon graduation from the Christian Academy in Japan, Jim returned to the U.S. where he attended Rockmont College (now Colorado Christian University) in Denver, Colorado, graduating with a BA in Psychology and Bible in 1971.  While at Rockmont, Jim met JoAnn, who was the secretary to the President of the College, and they were married on November 21, 1970.  Upon graduation from college, Jim attended the Denver Seminary and served as pastor at the Mountain Valley Baptist Church in Morrison, Colorado.  In 1974-75 Jim and his family returned to Japan where they ministered with his parents among the Japanese churches and our US Military personnel stationed there.

Upon returning to the United States, Jim established the Wilderness Ranch Conference Association, and served as their Executive Director for about ten years.  The WRCA provided outdoor recreation and Biblical training for children and youth of all ages by way of camp and conference programs offered on a cattle ranch in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.  Jim and his family moved to Grand Lake in the fall of 1983 where they expected to continue in the Christian camp and conference ministry, but the Lord had other plans for them.

During the ensuing years, they acquired several rental properties which the Lord has used to help support them in their ministry.  Jim coached basketball in both the middle school and high school for seven seasons.  His three daughters were all active in athletics as well, and the Lord allowed their family to establish and lead a strong “Fellowship of Christian Athletes” program in their school district where many coaches and student athletes came to know Jesus Christ.  Jim also served as the Chaplain and a volunteer fire-fighter on the Grand Lake Fire Department where he was selected by his peers as "Firefighter of the Year in 2009."

Jim and his wife JoAnn were instrumental in founding the Stillwater Community Chapel outside of the tiny, mountain town of Grand Lake, Colorado, in April of 1991.  While he never intended to become a pastor, He served as a part-time, lay pastor through the fall of 1996, at which time the church leadership enjoined him to come and serve as their full-time pastor.  He and his wife subsequently sold their building materials supply business and answered that call.  The church grew to an average attendance of around 200, and the Lord provided them with a beautiful, new, 12,000 square foot building addition - trusting the Lord to provide all of the financial resources as they built.  The result was a church facility on 5acres worth over $2,000,000.00 and no mortgage.  In addition to his pastoral duties at the Stillwater Community Chapel in Grand Lake, Colorado, Jim has always had a great heart for cross-cultural missions and served as an associate staff member with Global Connection International since 2006.  The GCI Board of Directors later invited Jim to take over the role of President and CEO on January 1, 2012 where the focus is on "Connecting People Who Care With the World's Greatest Needs" in some of the most dark and difficult places around the world.

Under Jim Weber's leadership during the early years of his new assignment, Global Connection International has continued to minister in a variety of ways in 12 different countries around the globe.  They moved into their very own office space for the first time in 13 years of ministry with the Lord providing new office furniture, equipment, a competitive rate on a prime location, and a commitment from a former board member for half of their monthly lease.  In addition, Jim took the point in organizing an “impact investment” group that recently purchased a beautiful office building that is providing an annual, projected 16.2% return on investment based on the past couple of year’s P&L statements.  Half of the annual profits are dedicated to the ministry while each investor retains the other 8.1% return.  This creative investment strategy is a win – win situation for the investors as well as the GCI ministry.

Jim will also grin and tell you that in addition to all these blessings, GCI is trusting the Lord on a day-by day basis for the resources needed for next month's salaries and current ministry projects.  But that's perfectly alright because nothing pleases God more than to have His people trust Him every step of the way, and it makes for new stories that demonstrate what He is doing to grow His church faster than at any other time in history all around the world!

Jim was awarded the 2014 "Values-Aligned Alumnus" award by Colorado Christian University for his commitment to maintaining a Godly character, accountability and integrity in all facets of his life journey with colleagues, ministry partners, family and friends.

Jim and his wife JoAnn have been married for 45 years.  JoAnn is the point person for GCI's Human Trafficking initiative, and serves as the director of special events.  They have three daughters, and five grandchildren - all of whom love the Lord and are actively involved with their families in their respective home churches.

Jim is an engaging and colorful communicator who loves nothing more than to share the "Great Commission" mandate that the Lord has laid out for The Church in Matthew 28:18 - 20 and Acts 1:8!  If you could use some help in putting a fire under the pot of a missions program you already have, or if you would like to watch your church come into compliance and flourish under the "Great Commission" mandate, he would love to come along side and encourage you and your church leadership in any way possible.

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.  Not to harm you, but to give you hope and a future."
- Jeremiah 29:11
Julia was born in Denver, CO and spent her early childhood years on a ranch west of Fort Collins, up the Buckhorn Canyon.  In elementary school, her family moved to Grand Lake/Granby area, and spent the remaining of her formative years there.  She graduated from Middle Park High School in 1993, and went on to study, briefly at Colorado State University.  After her first semester, she joined her two older sisters at the University of Wyoming, where she studied Animal Science/Agricultural Business.

Following college, Julia went to work for Phil Long Ford of Colorado Springs as the assistant to the General Sales Manager.  After a few years, she moved back to Grand Lake where she worked as Special Events Coordinator at the Grand Lake Lodge.  She also enjoyed working alongside her dad, Jim Weber, who was the pastor at the Stillwater Community Chapel at the time, in the church office.

After several years, due to some health complications of her young son, Julia moved to Denver and accepted a position as the Administrative Assitant to the General Manager at Phil Long Ford of Denver.
