Across the country of Cuba a revival is happening as people turn to Christ and then meet for worship in Cuban House Churches.
According to Pastor Moises Isla, who directs our work in Cuba: “We are so grateful to Global Connection International for its support of our Church, House Churches, and in particular the start up of House Church Resource Centers. Pastors and church leaders across Cuba are very excited about these centers and I believe they will make a huge contribution to the maturing of countless numbers of new believers!”
Literature makes a difference in one life at a time. Literature placed in the hands of Pastors is multiplied in its effectiveness. Many factors limit our ability to provide printed books: quantity needed, shipping costs, customs, etc. We believe the Lord has provided an answer for providing resources to Pastors – THE CUBAN HOUSE CHURCH RESOURCE CENTERS. Our goal is to provide a resource center within a bicycle ride of every House Church location.
aprendeLOGOS/Cuba
is a new dimension for the House Church Resource Centers. We are testing the LOGOS Bible Study Libraries in 15 locations. This is a partnership with LOGOS Bible Software that includes providing computers and the LOGOS Libraries to hundreds of House Church Resource Centers. We have already provided the English/Spanish edition to each of the eight seminaries in Cuba.
Critical to this effort is the development of an infrastructure of training and follow-up. The training of the use of this system which is new to most of the pastors is critical.
Moises Isla Jr. recently visited the states for training at the headquarters of LOGOS in Bellingham, Washington. Trainers/technicians will then be trained for each denomination at training seminars in Cuba.

WHAT IS NEEDED?
As mentioned above, before going full scale on the entire scope of the project -- Our goal is to provide a resource center within a bicycle ride of every House Church location -- we are testing the program in the first 15 locations, after which we anticipate about 400 Resource Training centers being established.
We can now purchase new computers in Cuba for $795.00 each, saving the expense and hassle of importing them into the country. Funds to provide computers for the first 15 locations: $11,925.00. In addition, funds to provide the “aprendeLOGOS/Cuba” infrastructure, computers and training.
Here is our budget for an 18 month launch:
Software – Spanish Logos Libraries $50,000 ($150.00 per site) Covered by various pledged contributions through Global Connection
Travel for 6 persons to Cuba $12,000 (at various times)
Cuba Project Director Training $ 3,500 (travel to US etc)
Training Events in Cuba Staff $ 1,000 Travel – in Cuba $ 2,500 Conference Expense – in Cuba $ 4,500
GLC Oversight $ 4,500
Training Materials $ 2,000
400 computers $318,000 (at various times)
TOTAL $343,500
Your contributions will go a long way! Lets start with the first 15 computers and software, we will be able to provide you with the testimony and results from this effort. Read the testimony of two of those centers already established – you will be challenged by this exciting response from a Cuban Pastor received by Guillermo Powell:
Let me tell you this story:
Jan Cespedes and his cousin
Jan Cespedes, pictured with one of our libraries, is of Cuban descent, and a believer who lives in Southern California, having been blessed with some financial success he wanted to bless others. This is the second time he has purchased several Spanish libraries and taken them to Cuba.
THIS time, he gave some for folks in the Los Pinos Seminary – Doug gave Norberto Quesada, the director, a Bilingual package at Moises house. He also found out that he had a cousin who was a pastor, so he took one for him (took five in total), left it with him and when he returned three days later, noticed that his cousin, the pastor with no training (an ‘apostle’), looked tired even to the point being sick. The pastor was so taken by the gift received, he had spent the entire three days, almost without any sleep, using the Logos program, viewing the tutorial, and studying.
This pastor, Alfredo, wrote to me on Saturday, to express his thanks and to say that he now has twelve leaders coming to his home to study with our Biblioteca Pastoral. He cannot stop saying thanks for such an amazing gift.
I believe these are the kinds of stories you will hear as the Resource Centers become a reality!
